Seems like ages ago…

I was cutting up little tiles from my old magazines.

Then the gluing started…

and more gluing.

The gluing went on

and on

and on.

The gluing finally stopped last night.

It’s on 20 inch x 30 inch foam board. Looks a bit like bathroom tiles from afar. Hee hee…  : )

And again what seems like ages ago [three years and 2 days to be exact] this little guy was born, bringing much joy and love and loudness to our family.

He matches the mosaic doesn’t he?

Introducing my new little bunny

Remember how I won?
Well, here she is…my lovely bunny from Julie at Little Cotton Rabbits. She came a long way to join our little family.

Julie is wonderful to work with and seeing her creation in person is amazing! Such tiny stitches and such great detail! I absolutely love the navy blue button on the red shoes.

She gave me the opportunity to choose all the aspects of my little bunny…yarn, color, dress, shoes. It was most fun! I asked her if a sailor dress was possible and she gave it a go and came up with an excellent one. Then she created the sailor collar for the dress and… and… it’s so perfect, isn’t it!

Voila, the back of her beautiful sailor dress. Such detail, such workmanship! Thank you Julie!

Here’s the reason behind the sailor dress…

It’s like the one my daughter had a very long time ago. Here she is at 8 mo. old with my mom.

And again around 1 1/2 years old.
Yes, I bought the dress big so she could grow into it. : )

You’d better bet that when I see another sailor dress in my daughter’s size…I’m buying it. =)

Good reasons for not posting

The past two weeks has gone by fast.  The first week after posting for 7 straight days [my own personal record-even though it was just photos], I just took a rest.  Let the camera cool down, you know.  =)

The beginning of this week my sister had surgery.  She stayed at our home to recover.  No crafting or blogging just alot of caring going on.  She went back to her home yesterday and the house seems a bit empty,…if that’s possible with two kids running around.  But it does.

She has supported me in many ways.  She was between jobs when I had my first baby so she came by daily,…DAILY to help me out.  I got to eat and nap as she bonded with her niece.  Her presence and help eased those tough early months of having a newborn.  Even now she reminds me to take care of myself and get time for myself [which usually involves her and shopping =)  ].

Though my words fall short of expressing my gratitude and love for my sister, I hope I can support her as she supports me.  Sisterhood is a wonderful gift in my life.

This little picture came from her camera phone.  It’s my little guy playing with some puzzle pieces.

[edit:  See the happy bagel faces?  Too cute to eat you say?  It was until I smothered them with cream cheese, then I couldn't see their sweet smiles.  =)  ]

Looks like spring

It’s here! Spring! At least for this week. We’ve been having some snow here lately. Not too bad but still snow.

But this week will be sunny! A wee chilly for me but sunny! I’ll take it and so will the kids.

And we’re flying into spring break too!

Not too much crafting going on but plenty of picture taking.

I tested out my newly purchased belt bag from the Le Sport Sac Outlet on this day. Yes, “belt bag” is the glorified term for fanny pack. And though fanny packs are not really my style, the several versions from Le Sport Sac feels more urban and hip to me. I can fit my cell phone, my mini wallet, and even my point and shoot camera in it. [My keys were in my jacket pocket.] The rest of my bag can be in stored in the trunk and I’ve got my important things with me. Plus my hands are free to play along with my kids.  [Messenger style bags move around and get in the way sometimes.]

Yes, try not to talk fashion sense into me,…my utilitarian side will win.  =)

There’s a flickr group too-The Simply Still Pool.
Come by and check out the great photography.

What I’m liking about each photo is the stillness…the quietness.
It’s a very peaceful photo group.  =)
